Transactional Analysis
Part I: Description
What is Transactional Analysis (TA)?
Transactional Analysis (TA) is a theory of personality and a system of psychotherapy that analyzes social interactions and communication patterns. It helps individuals understand their behaviors, thoughts, and emotions, aiming for healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
Key Concepts of Transactional Analysis:
Ego States: TA proposes three ego states – Parent, Adult, and Child – that influence our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in social interactions.
Transactions: TA analyzes communication exchanges (transactions) between individuals, identifying the ego state of the sender and the receiver.
